Silk Avia opened a new Bukhara–Sariosiyo route on 10 July, and Centrum Air widened its regional network linking Samarkand, Bukhara and Urgench (source: UzDaily). The country feels smaller now: breakfast in Tashkent and lunch in Samarkand or Bukhara has become an ordinary thing.

Four main carriers serve Uzbekistan's domestic market in 2026:
The domestic network expanded noticeably this year. From 10 July, Silk Avia began flying between Bukhara and Sariosiyo once a week, on Fridays. The flight lasts only an hour and opens access to the mountainous districts of Surkhandarya. Centrum Air added city-to-city routes such as Samarkand–Urgench, Bukhara–Urgench and Samarkand–Bukhara, so you no longer have to route through Tashkent to get from one region to another.
The growth is no accident. Fitch improved its outlook on Uzbekistan's airports in July 2026, and the country is increasingly named as an aviation hub between Europe and Asia.
The train from Tashkent to Nukus takes more than a full day; the flight takes about an hour and a half. The bus to Termez eats up a whole day, while the flight is just over an hour. If your time matters, the gap is huge. For Samarkand and Bukhara the high-speed Afrosiyob train is a fine alternative, so a plane earns its place mainly when you are in a hurry or the train is sold out.
